Rev Eric Titus seems better. No fever and Infectious Disease doesn't seem too concerned about whatever was found on yesterday's CT scan. He is asking for water but can't have even ice chips until weaned from the ventilator. They are placing a 30-day mid-line IV now, an improvement from having to stick him every few day. His liver numbers are almost normal - the lowest they have been since before his first transplant in October. His kidney is functioning well too.

(Moderator's note: FYI--This request came in from the Web. Not a member of HRC.)
[We read] In the King James Bible, Ezekiel 22:30: "And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none."
O God, please help us and teach us to build a wall [of prayer] around the USA, Canada, Poland and Great Britain. Are you ready to stand in the gap, where God is the Helper and Teacher?
Please pray that Great Britain, Poland, the USA/Canada would overcome for: (The Acts 26.18).
* Poland, pray for freedom from dead religion to saving faith of Jesus Christ as the Saviour and the Lord by faith only,
* the Church in the USA & Canada & Great Britain – Pray for repentance and cleansing of the church - Matt. 3.12 "Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."
* my family:
1. Stir up the hearts of my family for ministry for me, my wife Dorothy, our daughter Ann, and our sons Peter and Daniel - "..but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" Joshua 24.15
2. Pray for God's will, wisdom, discernment, revelation and recognition for me and my family; I ask God for Edmund’s work situation, God's direction for Edmund , Dorothy, Peter, Daniel and Ann (also God's protection and blessings over the company where she works and she needs a husband),
3. God's order in my work. I ask God for great wisdom at my work. Blessings and the knowledge of Jesus Christ for my bosses. Thank God for the continuation of my work.

Toni Houston
(Toni Houston): From Nancy: Praise the Lord!
So they did everything, and Eric will slowly be coming off the paralysis and sedation throughout the day. They gave him 4 units of blood overnight and only 2 during the surgery plus platelets etc. They washed his insides first and found only one small hole that they sutured. Finished the connections and closed everything up. The doctor said the liver and kidney looked good and he is not on any blood pressure meds. So hopefully this will do it.
Nancy is in a hotel tonight and then back in the transplant hostel for the next two weeks.

The surgery is done for now, but the surgeons will go back Wednesday or Thursday for the finishing surgical touches, unless they have to do it sooner. His heart stopped for 1-2 minutes while the liver was being disconnected, but they got it restarted. The head surgeon said he was as sick as you can be and still get this done. His blood pressure is stabilizing.
Eric got 33 units of red blood cells, 48 units of plasma, and 4 units of platelets during the surgery, and 3 more units of red blood cells since. Red Hook will be having a blood drive in April, but Nancy saying that it would be a big help if people could get some of that back into the system, no matter where or when you donate.

Eric is expected to start transplant surgery for a new liver and kidney at 4:00 today (Monday 1/27/2020) Eric is considerable better. Last night he was able to sit up in bed and hold his head up for awhile. He was feeling good enough to complain about all of the waiting. Dr Florman, the lead surgeon, just came by. He said the fist hurdle, once they start, is to get him out of the operation room, as a lot can go wrong. The next thing will be infection. Eric will get worse before he gets better. But the doctors are optimistic.
Nancy asks for prayer for Eric, the surgical team, and for the family who lost their 26 year old son.
