Toni Houston
(Toni Houston): Please pray for a friend Sarah. She was just released from the hospital after another two month stay. She has had numerous port infections traced back to her housing situation and her abusive housemate. She is dependent upon her port for all fluids and nutrition, as she cannot take anything by mouth. She was also informed that this port was her last one, and if it become infected they can't place another one. Yet despite many tries with many agencies, adult protective services, etc, it was impossible to find her any alternative housing . She was in tears upon her release, saying that going back to her house will literally kill her. The house is also an old Victorian, and she is an ambulatory wheelchair user, so its pretty much inaccessible, forcing her to climb stairs much more than she should. (She's not in New York )

Karen
(Karen): From missionary Holly Nelson with Special Hope Network in Zambia, Africa:
1.We ask for prayer for capacity building in our lead Zambian staff. We are investing time and leadership skills in 4 of our staff and are really encouraging them to lead and manage our 43 staff. They are learning computer skills, training skills, evaluation of their staff, and much, much more.
2.Please pray for our CCC moms and their kids with special needs as cold season begins. We have homes here that aren't airtight, and the cold wind, combined with a lack of understanding of germs and safe, clean water really cause colds, coughs, fevers and flus to spread. And of course there is still Covid. Usually cold season begins in June, but this year it has started early.
3. Please pray for our Community Advocates as they learn from our disability training. After 8 weeks of daily teaching, we hope that they will encourage change in their churches, clinics and schools to be welcoming, inclusive sites for children with intellectual disabilities and their parents.
4. We are opening a new Community Care Center in June 2022. There is a lot of work to be done to set that up. Choose a compound, find a small home to rent, set it up with our activities, rugs, and pillows. Walk around the compound to advertise and find the kids with intellectual disabilities to sign up, and then start!
