Carol (Update on Theresa Gerlach)
(Carol OMalley): Update from Jeff about Theresa:
Another step in the right direction! Theresa has been moved from ICU to a Progressive Care room. She's still in White Plains Hospital and requires more care before she can be moved to a different facility.
Visitation is still very limited to one person at a time.
But, Theresa has been able to sit in a chair, eat a little soft food, say a couple of words, (on a Trach), do some PT...all with help, lots of help. Jeff has been a constant source of love and encouragement by Theresa's side. Theresa's sister, Dolores, came for awhile, and Brennan & Madeline (& spouses) visit often. Your prayers have been tremendously important and still much needed! Please pray that the family can find a very good facility for Theresa to continue her care and treatment when she's well enough to be transferred from the hospital. Pray that Theresa's insurance will cover the best facility for Theresa's care and the length of time needed for the extensive rehab she will need. Thanks so much!!

Also, prayers for healing for my brother, Chris Lanphear, from the difficult catheterization he had on Tuesday. The good report is that no stents were required and previous stents were working properly. A different non-invasive test will be done at a later time and he's being treated w/meds. Through a secured grant we have been able to put an offer on a house for a new Community Care Center. Prayers that this purchase would go through to completion.
Prayers for this new area/compound as it will be our 7th Community Care Center in Lusaka.
Prayers for 65 children with intellectual disabilities we will get to work with plus their caregivers and families.
Prayers for staffing this new CCC, we will get to hire 4 new Zambian staff providing jobs and making a new impact.
Lastly prayers for Ebenezer a little girl that has down syndrome and we are trying to help her mother stay involved and bring her daughter to Special Hope to get the care they need. Ebenezer was in one of our newsletters this year.
